INVESTING in our COMMUNITY

BAT LEGACY FUND
British American Tobacco has been an important part of the Southampton and Hampshire economy for almost 100 years, and although manufacturing in Southampton was transferred to other parts of their global operation in 2006, they still employ almost 1,000 people at their Millbrook site. To recognise the end of manufacturing, they have decided to establish a long term legacy. This will give priority to improving skills and training in the local area, supporting the wider community, and attracting further funding for worthwhile projects. The fund prioritises training and learning and overcoming barriers to work in Hampshire and Isle of Wight for individuals aged 18+.
Grants from £5,000 to £10,000 are available.
BAT Legacy Fund is currently CLOSED and due to reopen in December 2009
DORIS CAMPBELL MEMORIAL FUND
he Doris Campbell Memorial Fund is open to local groups and charities that are working with young people in local communities across Hampshire - although some priority will be given to projects based in the Southampton area.
The fund has a maximum of three two-year grants, £5000 per annum, available for specific projects engaging young people in building community cohesion, and through the project, helping them become confident, motivated and responsible young people.
Other smaller grants between £500 and £1,000 are available to support local groups and local charities working with young people across Hampshire (who have incomes in excess of £20,000). These grants can be used towards core running costs, equipment, venue hire, or staff training and development.
The Doris Campbell fund is currently open for small grants of £500 to £1,000
