WELCOME TO THE HAMPSHIRE AND ISLE OF WIGHT COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

HIWCF is an independent charitable foundation dedicated to connecting donors with the local causes and charities they care about.

HIWCF are part of a national network of currently 48 accredited community foundations and 7 non-accredited associations across the UK who play a leading role in the development of local philanthropy to sustain voluntary action within our communities. Collectively the network has already encouraged the growth of community owned endowments to half a billion pounds on behalf of over 15,000 donors. As part of this there are 2,300 funds on behalf of individuals, families and companies. In 2013-14 almost 21,000 grants averaging £3,200 were awarded to groups across the UK.

HIWCF has built a local endowment of £10m and awarded £5m in small grants to over 2000 local community groups and charities.

We specialise in awarding grants to smaller, lesser known charities and community groups who offer the support, services and activities that can really make a difference to local people's lives.

We are proud to have made a difference to the lives of over 500,000 people living in our local communities across Hampshire & Isle of Wight.
